Current Key Legislative Priorities for Permanent Standard Time

The Coalition for Permanent Standard Time (CpST) is gearing up for a critical phase in our legislative advocacy. As state and national sessions heat up this spring, several bills and action items require our immediate attention. Here is a roundup of the top priority legislative efforts we are tracking, with guidance on how you can get involved. As always, please visit our Action Center to see what messages you can send. Even if you have sent a message before, new messages are needed every time a bill advances the the next committee.

National Message

U.S. Congress: “Daylight Act” (H.R. 7378) & “Sunshine Protection Act” (H.R.139/S.29): Congressman GregSteube’s new “Daylight Act” would make permanent half-DST across all U.S. time zones. While this would end seasonal clock changes, it could complicate international trade and computing, and permanent Standard Time remains the optimal choice for health and safety. Additionally, the sponsors of the Sunshine Protection Act are still seeking to make daylight saving time permanent. Tell the President and Congress to support Standard Time

Priority States
